IAXO builds on concepts developed for the 15+ long trajectory of the <a href=\"http:\/\/cast.web.cern.ch\/CAST\/\">CERN Axion\u00a0 Solar Telescope\u00a0(CAST)<\/a><span style=\"display: inline !important; float: none; background-color: #ffffff; color: #444444; cursor: text; font-family: Georgia,'Bitstream Charter',serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 1.5; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;\">. As a first step, an intermediate experiment, called BabyIAXO, will be built. BabyIAXO will serve as prototype for IAXO but will already enjoy discovery potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The UNIZAR group has a leading role in IAXO (as it had in CAST).
