Every year, ISAPP is organizing Schools addressed to European Ph. D. students (experimentalists and theorists, astrophysicists and particle physicists). In 2010, there will be two Schools, one in Zaragoza (13-22 July) focused on a Multi-Messenger Approach to Astroparticle Physics and the second one in Pisa (26 Sept. – 5 Oct.) concentrated on Gravitational Waves.
The School organized in Zaragoza will try to answer basic questions concerning the evolution and composition of the Universe at large scale and the properties of interesting astrophysical objects. To achieve this goal combination of information drawn from different particle-messengers and through different detection techniques is presently mandatory.
The students are expected to have an active participation in the School: they will have time for discussions between themselves and the lecturers and are encouraged to bring posters presenting their research work. These posters will be permanently exposed for the duration of the School and shortly presented in an special poster session.
The sessions devoted to Underground Physics, will take place at Canfranc and a visit to the facilities of the Canfranc Underground Laboratory will also be included. http://www.lsc-canfranc.es
Every day, at the end of the sessions, optional social and touristic activities are foreseen for students and lecturers. In the middle of the School they will have one free day.
This School will be hosted by the Nuclear and Astroparticle Physics Group of the University of Zaragoza (GIFNA).
